Philosophy

Children have a natural curiosity and desire to learn. Children need a nurturing and loving environment where they feel safe to learn about the world around them. Parents and caregivers need to create a cohesive team as co-educators in order to help the child achieve their full potential.

Here at Where the Wild Things Grow, we create a unique and individualized curriculum based upon the children’s interests to keep each child engaged and help to support their lifelong love for learning. We are a play-based program in which children are encouraged to explore their environment and learn through the safe context of play.

We focus on the whole child and believe all domains of development are equally important. Children will be given opportunities to grow their physical, communication, cognitive, and social-emotional development on a daily basis.

Where the Wild Things Grow also believes in instilling core values in each child that graduates from our program. We teach how:

  • To be kind to those around us and to treat everyone with dignity and respect

  • To communicate and problem solve with others

  • To foster one’s love for lifelong learning

  • To see the beauty in the nature around us and to appreciate all living things

Miss Cassidy

Hello Everyone! My name is Cassidy and I have worked in preschool settings since 2012. I am so excited to have opened my own small family childcare program in order to work with children and their families in a more personal context. This has been a dream of mine since my early 20s and our doors opened in 2021.

I received my degree in Child Development from Humboldt State University and have worked with children in many unique settings over the years, including Montessori Led, Child Development Labs, Autism Research Preschool Programs, Academic Driven Preschools, and in home settings. My goal was to take the best parts of what I have learned from each position in order to create a high quality program of my own.

When I am not spending time with your little ones, I am most likely binge watching some Netflix, cuddling with my two cocker spaniel babies, or enjoying a Friday evening at my "Happiest Place on Earth." Thank you for taking the time to learn about my program and see why I am so passionate about this field.
